Closer by Joy Divison came out in 1980, that's one messed up album. It's like listening to someone kill themselves. But good. It's up there with The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers as most f*cked up album (in a good way) of all time.

Although there was an unbelievably large amount of shite in the 80's aswell, let's not forget.
Re: '80's Music
The 80's was one of the best time periods ever! Thrash metal was born! Every one knew each other, the bands and the fans, people would mosh, and destroy the bars, and all of the amazing thrash bands were born!!! Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Testamnet, Forbidden, Heathen, Exodus, Sepultura, Kreator, and Sodom were just a few of them! But we can't forget about Iron Maiden, they were in their prime during the 80's with "Number of the Beast", "Piece of Mind" and "Powerslave". Along with other NWOBHM bands like Motorhead, Judas Priest and Ozzy who were amazing in the 80's too! And there was Black Sabbath!
"Time is a thing we must accept.
The unexpected I sometimes fear.
Just when I feel there's no excuse
for what happens, things fall into place.
I know there is no way to avoid
the pain that we must go through,
to find the other half that is true"

Re: '80's Music
New Order, Stone Roses and The Smiths (Madchester) were all brilliant. And don't forget Faith No More (The Real Thing), the only truly brilliant metal band ever.

Don't know if this original recording is from the '80s, but I do have the '92 cover on CD.

As they ask in "Douche and Turd," which do you like best?

The Fixx - Red Skies
Once or twice a year a bunch of guys from the radio station I listen to get together and do some cover songs. One year they did that one with "Red Skies At Night Guy". Remember when Jon Lovitz was The Devil in that SNL skit? Yeah, this guy pretty much looked like that, but he was wearing a devil costume made for a 12 year old. He also wore Oakleys, and his sole purpose on stage was to stand in front of a mic and do the "oh-oh's".
