Life is a waterfall. We drink from the river, then we turn around and put up our walls.
and:
Life is a waterfall. We're one in the river and one again after the fall.
God damn, SoaD are f*cking geniuses. THink about those 2 quotes, it's not hard to find out what they're metaphors for.

The second one is f*cking awesome, but sorry... I don't get the first one.

alright, let me try to explain it,
Life = a waterfall. Ok, we got that.
Drinking from the river = drinking water that the waterfall (life) gives you
Putting up the walls = save yourself from the floods that the waterfall (life) makes.
water to drink = good
floods = bad
therefore meaning that life will give you both good and bad, but you just have to accept it and live on (putting up the walls).
Do you understand it now?
and for anyone who doesn't understand the second one:
Going along the river = good
Falling down the waterfall = bad
It's basically telling you that no matter what life (the waterfall) gives you, you are still one person before and after (even during) whatever good or bad things life gives you.
anyway, back on topic,

Life is like a toilet. sh*t happens, and you have to deal with it somehow.
That metaphor should be self-explanatory. Any metaphor that needs explaining isn't a very profound one. Then again, neither is the one I told you.
EDIT: Sorry... since I mistook this for the "random thread," I had better post a random fact about myself.
Anyway, while cleaning out my room for the umpteenth time, I unearthed probably the biggest waste of paper ever-- a notebook filled cover to cover with screencaps from Digimon. And not just any Digimon character... it was Myotismon. You know... the vampire?
Damn, I was obsessed with vampires four years ago and thought I would be for the rest of my life. I never even dreamed I'd be a South Park fan.
