Well, the reason I hopped off was two fold. The first reason was that I don't like the way it has turned out, and I realized I was buying the same game over and over.

That's the thing - the new versions are just so you don't get tired of playing the game, and so they can update them with new technologies and stuff.

If they were updating it, you might think they would introduce a new plot structure or goal? The only reason I might play another one would be if they "matured" it a little. You know, add a bit of swearing, some blood, and a customizable character who's closer to 17 or 18 compared to perpetual 10 year olds. Just my opinion.
Anyway...

Well, the fandom is plenty mature, which is why I like the comics so much, haha. I think it's just unexplainably addictive. :B
I dunno. I have a ton I have random love for. C: A ton of different Pokemon have saved my ass from losing on many different occasions.
