"THE COON"
IN AN ALL-NEW "SOUTH PARK" ON
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18 AT 10:00 P.M. ON COMEDY CENTRAL
NEW YORK, March 16, 2009 – One young citizen takes it upon himself to maintain order during a time of despair in South Park. An all-new episode of "South Park" titled, "The Coon?,” premiers on Wednesday, March 18 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL.
“The Coon” rises from the trash and takes his place as a lone vigilante who wipes out crime in the town of South Park. A rival superhero appears on the scene in the form of “Mysterion” and challenges the Coon’s place as a “symbol” for the town.
Launched in 1997, "South Park," now in its 13th season, remains the highest-rated series on COMEDY CENTRAL. "South Park" repeats Wednesdays at 12:00 a.m., Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. and Sundays at 11:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.

Re: Episode 1302 Announcement
EDIT:
Hmm...odd idea... I dunno if it would be the best idea...though it would be funny if the coon died...
EDIT EDIT:

....oh and the "other" guy is probably Cartman

I am a hybrid of Butters, Tweek, and Clyde.
Official Winner of Page 1900!

So, unless I'm WAY too tired from staying up for this press release and preview clip, it looks like they'll be spoofing Batman and probably The Dark Knight specifically (I'm too tired to be able to tell.) I certainly hope they do a good job, but please don't be too direct about it.
That's all I have to say. I'll come back into this discussion some time tomorrow when I'm not too groggy to actually discuss.

I'm interested to see what direction this episode is going to go in. Might also be a good opportunity for Professor Chaos to make an appearance.
Can't wait!

It would be cool if the Coon was Butters and the other person was Prof Chaos.

I /hope/ it's better than I think.
"Butters is gay, finds me very attractive, and confused about his sexual identity threw up all over the floor."

Or it'll be mutually considered one of their best. But not in that douchebaggy, lazy-ass way that so many fans seem to see it; as if MnT are grovelling at our feet, trying to meet our every demand. As if we 'deserve' to get fat and have a show do all the work for us. Anyways, done venting!
Is it a reference to Sin City and Watchmen and all those stylized hero movies?
And shows like The Tick, and The Maxx?
I love how mysterious the preview pictures are

I bet its Butters too

Time to try and watch the preview clip!
Re: *1302: The Coon* Pre-Air Discussion
The Coon is Cartman. And Mysterion has gotta be Butters. In which case the people who constantly claim that the Butters/Cartman dispute is getting old will not be getting any solace.
But in any case, it's South Park... I'm pumped.
