I sadly haven't read others mentioning this (either for good or for bad) but it seems you've completely gone digital with the most recent episode, and it visually stinks. The off-beat character/scene cut-outs, and slap-dash look have been so streamlined and polished, that it no longer has the down-to-earth quality which attracted so many of us (those of us who are old enough to actually remember when you were groundbreaking). Yeah, I know it's been digitized since like episode 2, but now it gone a bit too far.
Hasn't anyone else noticed this in 1408? The amount of detail and fine lined pixels... The changing virtual camera angles as if this was a video game... The visual overload with the "perfect" backgrounds... And worst of all, the use of gradations/blending in the color schemes as opposed to block colors.
I know you must have worked hard to get this effect, but it sucks. It looks fake, and detracted from the whole show.
Call me old-school, but it was the cheezy-ness which made SP so likable. Dare I mention this, but the Simpsons re-vamped their animation around their 8th season give-or-take, and that pretty much signaled their downfall. Something was just missing after that. Sure, Groening has still been laughing all the way to the bank for the past dozen years, but that was also when I and most people I know stopped watching it (and really began to appreciate the ad-hoc style of SP)
Please SP, don't do this to yourself, or else you will only have the "newer" fan base left.
I am not a fan of their "need" to make the show look good in HD. Gradients, varying strokes, CG animation, and shading are NOT what South Park needs. The animation is SUPPOSED to be crappy, and by you guys giving each character model 100+ bones to animate, you're just taking away from that.
Please, SP, don't worry about your looks. Focus on the story, focus on what made South Park what it is today. <3
Quit bitching and watching the episode. Why are SP fans such critics? They can't keep doing the same thing, it's boring. I give props to M & T for branching out there. Plus they toy with their animation all the time (Good Times With Weapons, Make Love Not Warcraft, Major Boobage) this was so much smaller than that. It was like, 15 seconds of a 22 min show. Who watches for animation? The fact is the storylines are still great and the dialogue is brilliant like always.

It wasn't the best episode, but it was still pretty great. Kenny died, which is always a plus, and Cartman acted retarded. I don't see it as Cartman being a murderer; he's just a dumbass.
Wait, what? Kenny died? I have no recollection of that.
Did they change something after the original airing or something? I haven't had a chance to see it since; been too busy. Arguably didn't even have time to watch the initial airing, but I forced my schedule to fit it.

No, he survived. He was with Cartman and Kyle at the very end of the episode.
Fave ep: ESM Season 12,Sec fave: Butterballs Season 16
I'm just asking because I've seen this thing in liek before(HINT:Simpsons and Family guy-when it was at least bearable to watch).
This was one of the worst episodes-truthfull dissapointed fan speaking here.
I'm not gonna try to sugarcoat anything.
Sh*t is sh*t.
Next week's episode is probably going to be a personal favorite of mine.
Anyway, on an irrelevant note, I clapped when they ripped on Two and a Half Men. That show gets way, way too much attention for something that stupid.

Anytime between 6:00 pm Pacific (9:00 pm Eastern) and midnight pacific (but usually by 9:00 pm Pacific), nall will release the Comedy Central Press release here on this SPS site.
In addition to the CC press release, there should be two press images, and hopefully a newer clip, now that M&T have had more time to work on the episode since the last teaser clip was released on Wednesday.
Keep checking in the 1409 pre-air thread . The second post currently in that thread is by nall, a "placeholder" post, so I assume the info will be placed there on Sunday evening.
When i watch it here online, it's not uncensored?
Anyone mind helping me out?
But damn it was pretty hilarious!
