You're right, the season 17 extension contract has not been signed yet, it's still pending. I'm starting to believe more and more that South Park is not going to end any time soon. South Park is what Trey and Matt know best, I don't think they want to disappoint their fans and just up and leave. So they like to make plays too, and a hell of a good play if I may say so myself, it doesn't mean they have to give up South Park to fulfill that dream. Those two are perfectly capable of making masterpieces on Broadway and making amazing South Park episodes. If I had the chance to do a job like that, I would do it forever, wouldn't you?

I'm also happy to be cured. It took me 5 days after the episode aired to stop being unhappy. Now I love the episode and I laugh every minute, including the very last one. It helps when you watch something you don't like over and over again (12 times) and then buy the song that makes you sad ("Landslide" from Fleetwood Mac). It helps me, at least.

Me too. I am also cured from the episode. While still incredibly sad I have not cried about it in days! XD I did have to see the clips, esp. "Landslide" a few dozens times it seems, and read the script from Big Will's site, but it has helped. I am just so anxious to see what happens next. As long as Stan gets his friends back I will be happy with whatever really. :)
I love: Stan, Butters, Cartman, Sharon.

Everyone talks about how dreary and depressing this episode was, but that was only the last two minutes when things got sad. The rest of the time it was really funny. The best part in my opinion was the whole concept behind why there's always a generation gap in music, and the whole part with the two farmers was a killer.

I was going to state some more of my opinions and deductions about the future of South Park in relation to what we saw in S15E07- "You're Getting Old" in this very post-air discussion thread. I was going to quote other posters, respond what I thought, and post some original ideas too.

But I won't.

In another thread authored by nall re: Matt and Trey on the Daily Show, nall posted this link:

After watching the interview, it appeared to me that Matt and Trey were amazed that people thought this is the end of the show; that they enjoy making the show and that they are coming back in the fall. The only thing is (what I took away from the interview) is that as of this point in time, they have no idea how Season 15B will continue as to plot lines.

Yet this is true every season - they don't know what they are going to write until that first meeting with the writers on the Thursday before air.

So, I conclude that 1507 was a great episode; that no one knows what 1508 will bring yet, not even M&T.

Whatever it is, we are all looking forward to it.

As of this post, only 110 days left until airtime.

Everyone, enjoy your summer, and in just over 3 months we will all enjoy the next part of Season 15, AND we should know by then what, if anything, will be in their contracts with Comedy Central as to Seasons 16, 17, and maybe beyond :D

Happy Summer, everyone :D

Then again who knows maybe their just doing this to shake us all a bit. I have heard more than once how bad the new episodes are etc etc blah blah blah, well I for one still find them hilarious and poignant. I think it is the audience who is letting down the guys who make the show. However, should they actually decide that this is the last season let me say thank you to Matt and Trey for 15 great years.

south park wont end its signed up till season 17 atleast, they can't get rid of Stan nor can they get rid of Randy, Randy awesome and fills the new role of chef I think i mean internet band camp porn was funny as hell ghost plasma lmfao.. well have to see where Matt and Trey go with this they left it suspenseful so we all tune in to the next episode.

Time out! Did I miss something or did you not read any posts in the last week and a half?! There is no evidence that they signed any contract for S17. If they have then it would be on the news section of this site.

Moderators already closed a thread about south park ending after season 15 and said it will be there till season 17.. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=41900

So I'm going by what the moderator says.

The link you quoted, Normino, is 2 1/2 months out-of-date. That thread was closed before Season 15A even began. At that time, we all thought that it was a certainty that SP would go on to at least season 17. Now all we know is that the current contract ends after Season 15, and we should get some official word around labor day or so.

So as for now, none of us not involved with show or with the contract negotiations knows for sure.

I am that moderator, so you'll have to go by what I say now: The show will continue, but we don't know by how many years. Clearly we were mistaken when we thought "You're Getting Old" was showing us how Matt and Trey were feeling about the show, 'cause in the Daily Show interview two days ago, Matt and Trey said they enjoyed making the episode, and that South Park is still their thing.

Somehow, i knew M&T wouldn't end this. But thanks for the info, zzyzx 1. You enlightened us all.

Well, have a great summer kids, and I'll see you guys back in October. One more thing, I'd really like another Christmas episode.

Peace out.

Yes, another Christmas episode would be spectacular! Maybe even one where Shelley (Shelly?) no longer has braces.

LOVED this episode! It was so realistic with with happens when married couples divorce and kids have to move away from their friends. I personally relate a lot to it since my mom remarried when I was 10.

Episode gets more brilliant as time goes on.

The fact that this thread is 54 pages long is a testament to how thought-provoking it was.

This episode is great. I like how the latest episodes are having an awesome twist at the end. Is stans parents getting a divorce? because that would be interestig, besides u can always get them back together if it doesnt work out for the show.

Man this episode was sweet! Well, i was a little high and I literally lmfao! Randy doing the old person thing and those dudes talking about britches haha. Everything made sense, old music sound like sh*t and the new music sounds like sh*t ( which it's true, most of the music we here today is just sh*t ) Anyway, i was wondering if Stan's parents are getting a divorce or just taking time apart, because it would be nice if they get separated I think it could be interesting; besides, you can always put them back together if it doesn't work out for the show.

ps. I love how the latest episodes are having an awesome twist at the end.

See, now I don't think they will ever get back together, it's just unethical. You don't repeat the same situation more than once on a show. Now I don't mean you don't repeat Kenny dying, I mean you don't do the same story twice. Sharron and Randy already got a divorce in Clubhouses and got back together, doing it again would be stupid. If the show is to continue this dramatic look, then you can't go putting Sharron and Randy back together again. I would rather see them stay separated. Let's face it, any real life relationship such as their's wouldn't work either. To keep this awesome story going, a good writer would know to keep them separated. If they do get back together, the last episode would lose all meaning, the whole thing about Sharron saying the same old sh*t happens all the time.

^ I agree. What would be the point in having Sharon and Randy fight and argue thought an entire episode, split up, move their separate ways, only to put them back together?? I can't see Sharon putting up with Randy anymore. It's obvious they don't work, even in other episodes. I can recall Sharon in Douche and Turd: "I'm sick of you belittling me you son-of-a-bitch!" :D So.... they are probably best if divorced.

Plus the divorce adds a new angle to the show. We could see Stan living in a new home. More screen time for Sharon and Shelley. It might take time to get used to but if Stan learns to accept it and like it... less Randy time, but when he does show up it could add new humor and funny bits. Like he picks up the kids one day at Sharon's house. Awkward but it could be funny.
Since I say Stan moved to a new house still in SP based on him walking down the Main Street we always see, it could add a lot of fun flair.

So, I am hoping they keep the parents divorced. I think it is a launching point to some new material that can be created for SP otherwise deemed undoable or something. :)
