Just to be clear, Linda Stotch is alive. She only died in Minecraft. Sort of like how the ep ended with Sharon and Randy.
I was sure there had to be a twist as soon as that came up. Matt and Trey couldn't change Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny or Butters' family lives to save the world.
South Park is a platform for Matt and Trey's social commentary and satire; there is no canon and these characters only serve as tools for self-expression. Don't get attached.

That's what I thought, until eleven years ago. But they killed Chef [albeit for a reason], Mrs. Crabtree, Clyde's mom, and even Kenny, though only for a season. They did, however, originally intend for it to be permanent.
They'll do anything they want. When I heard Butters' mom kicked the bucket, I was not expecting a twist.

Good episode I agree that the nipple twisting went on way to long but very funny in places. I liked that kid who was teaching the adults how to play Minecraft and Stephen building on the roof of the community center
plus great use of characters as well made this an excellent episode.

Kyle: Why? How could you do this? There are people starving in Alabama and you give Cartman a million dollars?
Cartman: Line? Lines! I HATE LINES!!!

Things with side characters stick, but whenever it's come to the main five boys, the reset button's always pressed.

How do you get wood? How do you get wood, ppl?! I wasn't able to get any wood from this.
Except, maybe, for the fact that Sharon wants to murder Randy in his sleep. Because so do I.

8/10
I liked the episode. It was much better than last week's. I also would've liked it better had we seen more of the characters in the Minecraft world than just Randy and Sharon, though it was funny how they kept killing each other in-game. It could've been more like Make Love, Not Warcraft, but then again, this was a different episode and it didn't need to try to repeat past glory.
Cartman booing Wendy was one of my favorite parts. I would've liked to see Wendy rage and beat the sh*t out of Cartman, but... that also would've been repeating past glory.
Also, I'm glad Butters's dad didn't actually kill his mom. I highly dislike Butters's parents, especially his dad (even though his mom is the one who tried to kill him back in Season 5). If Steven (Chris?) murdered Linda, he'd be beyond all redemption. Maybe I'm taking the show too seriously again, but... yeah. I like the twist they came up with there.
Oh, and bonus points for Tweek talking. The nipple rubbing wasn't funny though. It was stupid the first time and annoying the twelfth time.

Gratuitous nipple-twisting, heh.
I loved the role reversal; so deliciously evil!

Re: *1702: Informative Murder Porn* Post-Air Thread
Okay, massive doings caused me to miss the original airing tonight. So I'll pick up from my DVR'd ep.
Hey, Ben Assfleck has a new movie coming out. That looks meh.
Mkay, this is starting off like one possibility I considered, but I was thinking more along the lines of the TV dramas like Criminal Minds and Law and Order, not the ones like he mentioned.
Nice way to shield the 1st grader. *snnk*
This is turning into a nice little role reversal episode.
Jesus, the Marshes have a lot of dilados. I bet they have a Spank Trunk full of crap too.
"info only a kid would know".
'Kay, Cable guy is officially OTT now.
What/who the hell are they riffing on with this kid?
...oh sh*t. well, there was act 2. uh... yeah.
Really hating the cable guys, but it's getting funny with both of them going at each other... aaand It's stupid again. (president... jeez. knew it was going that way, but
) They should've really ramped it up with clamps and some sort of intricate cable and pully system. Then it would've been f*ckin' hilarious.
I had a feeling they'd end up in the Minecraft world, I just didn't think it'd end that way. Makes total sense though.
All in all, I liked the ep.

I prayed for it. Actually, when I first heard it I was like "NOOOOO! WHY CAN'T IT BE STEVEN! I hate him more!!!" But I think I would've been crushed if I had thought that Linda had Minecraft killed Steven, with me thinking he had died the SP world, then I had found out it was just in the Minecraft one.
...Does anybody here even do Minecraft anyway?
Re: *1702: Informative Murder Porn* Post-Air Thread
Very entertaining and funny. Guess you didn't need to know that much about Minecraft to get what was going on. Loved how the adults began to reenact the game by building things. And the kids taking charge of things to protect their parents. 'Parental block.' A special app. Town meetings.
Randy telling Stan he wouldn't kill Mom and if so he would have left no evidence and he's been 'thinking this for weeks.' lol
The cable guys rubbing their nips was a bit weird. A little funny but not too necessary. But I loved the joke of how they like to screw people over and how they make things complicated and how annoying it is that you have to get 'bundles' of shows, you can't pick and choose!
Sweet funny ending with the Marsh marriage being rekindled through the video game. But uhh, why does Stan walk into their room when he knows he hears them making sex noises?? Why don't they lock the door?
Will need to watch again but for now 7.5/10

I love: Stan, Butters, Cartman, Sharon.
I ship: Stan/Cartman <3
Stan: MMOOMM!!
Sharon: What is it honey? (gasp!) My baby's killed again!
Haa, I love that line.

Kyle up there at a
podium being outraged in public just like his mother!
Yup I was thinking that too

Kyle: Why? How could you do this? There are people starving in Alabama and you give Cartman a million dollars?
Cartman: Line? Lines! I HATE LINES!!!

How do you know they didn't? Stan knocked on the door, Randy asked him to hold on a bit, then told him it was okay to come in. This is perfectly fine, with or without a locked door.

At the end when they're playing MineCraft, Stan just comes in and all he can hear is some pleasured giggling and moaning.
Stan's becoming quite a fucked-up kid.
