And in this episode too Canada part was just too much.
But I liked everything else.
Cartman actually caring about Stan was unusual.
Satan part was great.
Randy being in denial about his drinking problem was quite good. Schmurgeschwein? I love how in America you can put a European label on anything to make it sound elegant. Even if it's binge drinking.
Is obvious the episode is mainly referencing to Simpsons Tapped Out. I play and played several F2P (Some of them actually fun without spending a cent), and that's the only one i know is as bland as farmville and audio notifies you every so often. Although some others goes for the unfair approach with pay2win mechanics.
Returning to the main subject. If I have to give a negative point is the alcoholism joke when the addiction topic comes out. Personally i find it a itty tiny bit dragged out, but not enough to become annoying.
Canada - I love South Park's Canada. Always. Even the Canadian devil was funny.
The alcohol commercial - Best part of the whole episode. I said it before, Trey is really good at voicing those.
Throwbacks to older episodes - Bloody Mary and Red Man's Greed. Nice to see Three Feathers Casino again. Funny.
Good to see Grandpa, Terrance, Phillip and even the Prince of Canada again.
Usually the best episodes for me are the ones that I have to keep watching. This had a lot of that, minus the ending which was too intense for me. Regardless of that, the strong parts of this episode were really good.
kfgg wrote:As mentioned above, Cartman's lines were way out of character this episode. Usually he couldn't give a rats ass if someone did something to someone other than himself. Now he grabs Jimmy by the shirt "How could you sell out your friend!?"
Out of character, for the latest seasons, perhaps, but imo very similar to the first season. I say the first season because of all the call backs in this episode. They even went back to Cartman's early character. Except of course that Cartman knows technology now, and before Kyle could think of a way to get out the news of fremiums Cartman already tweeted out the news and it was trending
Oh these immemorial dependences: alcoholism, drug addiction, a game addiction and other, its will lead to no good, a hint is clear - to steer clear of a Freemium games.
The Satan, long time no see! his red ass didn't flickered very long ago in show. That he appeared after Stan's prayer arouse bad feeling, though it and was fanny. I think Satan took Stan's soul and body not accidentally, perhaps it's a hint, and there can be it means that Stan won't be such as earlier.
Randy suffering from alcoholic dependence and condemns the grandfather Marsh's and Stan's, here the hint is extremely simple, as in an old Russian proverb: see a mote in smb.'s eye and not to see a beam in one's own... Instead of pay attention to ourselves, much simpler to teach others.

In that case I will tell all the new this well forgotten old.
The speed of the episode, combined with callbacks, live action, continuity, important issues, alcohol and micro transactions. 9/10
Pretty much true. Everyone has some sort of addiction, and usually in some way shape or form you will pay for it, either by cash or by stupid health crap. The only thing this episode was Missing was Saddam Hussein
The only real negative was that the plot/explanation from the "Canadian Devil" dude was a bit hard to get...although I guess if you need something explained well, you just have to ask Satan himself.
Oh and that alcohol/pussy commercial...LMAO
PS: Voice Issues. Was Trey kinda ill or was the modulator off. I noticed Stan's voice was a little off, grandpa's too.
Of course this was a very entertaining episode to me. The Canadian bits weren't too annoying which is refreshing. I can't get over Jimmy's 'I mean come on.' lol Having a silly game taken as seriously as if it were street drugs. But there were bits I didn't understand. Again, since I don't have a smartphone have no idea how mobile apps really work and how free games work. I can only assume there are games that you pay a little bit at a time for and you end up paying a lot in the end.
Goodness if I were Sharon I'd take Stan's phone away as soon as I got the bill for the game!! He defiantly shouldn't have been allowed to continue it but then again there wouldn't be a story.
Gotta love Randy blind-sighted about his 'addiction to drinking' and focus on what his dad and Stan were doing. Another thing that bothers me, since he is still Lorde, he's obviously rich. Why the hell are they still living in South Park? Where's the money going to? lol
LOVE that Cartman was there as a supporter to get Stan help, nothing more. So refreshing to see him not take center stage. Needs to be a lot more episodes like this.
Nice to see Satan having a friendly chat with Stan. because that's what he's known for! As epic as the battle between him and the Canadian Devil was, why did he need Stan's soul/body to fight? When he comes back up from the middle of the earth to his friends, no big deal haha.
Canada isn't that impoverished of a nation is it? Why would they need all that money to better it up? Great to see the return of the Three Feathers Casino!
Loved the eppy. 9/10.
I ship: Stan/Cartman <3
Sharon: What is it honey? (gasp!) My baby's killed again!
Haa, I love that line.
Welcome back, Satan. God knows how many missed seeing you since Hell On Earth 2006.
Possessed Stan was a badass. It's fun to see Terrence and Phillip once more.
Overall, a fun episode as of now.
I use one of these types of games. It's something to do while I'm crapping. But I'm in that big piece of the pie with everyone who never spends one cent on "Freemium" games.
I play the Family Guy one. I tried The Simpsons one, but lost interest when it wanted me to start attacking other people's towns. That's too much effort. I'm happy with just building a town and slowly unlocking characters.
Like everyone else, I f*ckin loved the fake commercial for booze. Trey hit that one out of the park the way he did that voiceover. The joke reminded me of a sign gag from The Simpsons for Duff Beer. "Please Binge Responsibly."
I was happy to see the guys are consistent about their opinion of 12 step recovery programs. Satan going into the science of addiction with Stan was outstanding. I stood up and applauded. That's what is really going on when people do things compulsively.
The running joke with Randy and his "classy" drinking had me laughing with a bit of self-recognition mixed in. It's okay to drink 6 beers when you're trying new ones.
The Canadians were okay in this one. But surprisingly few farts in an episode with a good amount of Terrence and Phillip screen time. The Canadian Devil and his fire farts; to me that is a call back to the movie and the first establishing shot of Kenny in Hell and that 3D dragon flies overhead and it's all scary and badass, but then it farts a nugget of fire and suddenly you're laughing.
The reveal of "Beezleboot" had me thinking we were about to see Saddam Hussein for the first time in many years. I mean, c'mon; someone is secretly doing dastardly things to Canada? It's gotta be Saddam!
You read it! You can't unread it!

Except for that part about diabetes: "you've been eating gluten 'n sh*t." But, of course, that's reference to Gluten Free Ebola.
