Aside from the average kid standpoint, Stan has that extra logic that no one else seems to notice, like in the biggest douch in the universe where he "becomes" a psychic etc....

even in Stan focused episodes, Stan seems to have fallen off the radar.

Overlogging was pretty much Marsh family centered, but Randy did most of the episode, Stan had his usaul few lines, and Kyle took the other half of the episode (though odd that Kyle didn't fuss about Stan moving, but Stan fussed over Kyle moving)

I think when Kyle moved to San francisco stan thought he would be gone for good, but when Stan went to California Kyle knew he would be back when the net was working again.Thats my theroy anyway.

Stan is awesome, he's my 2nd favorite of the 4 boys and 3rd favorite of every single character. I always find his reactions funny Like:
