Who else thinks Kyle.... sucks

I'm going to disagree with the OP on the basis that I like Kyle and he's one of my favorite characters. The show wouldn't be the same or good with just Cartman, Stan, Kenny, or Butters as the main boys.
Stan would not have a best friend like Kyle and Cartman wouldn't have anyone to rag on for being Jewish, there would not be anyone to foil his plans or be his rival.
Kenny would just be Kenny (I like him too so no hate there). Since Stan's change in personality in Your Getting Older/A** Burgers, Kyle has been the voice of reason.
