Why? 90% of the reviews are just fangirl squealing, no matter how bad the story is.
Because the good stories receive reviews containing constructive criticism and actual compliments, instead of just "OMG that waz sooo cute <3 <3 stan and kyle are such a cute couple omg lol fdhkjsfhsdaiuf"

Not necessarily. I personally don't mind slash, as long as the pairing makes sense and clicks between the characters. Crack pairings, I admit, are alright as long as they're not taken too seriously.
I know it sounds strange to see two older versions of the SP boys kissing (among other things), but slash has been part of every fandom, and I used to be anti-slash myself back in the day. But it's kind of like discovering that the boy you had gone to third grade with has a boyfriend in high school. Do keep in mind that almost always in slash, the boys are 16-21 years of age.
BUT... there are also some elements of slash that might just distort people's images of the whole concept altogether.
For instance, I can't stand the slash where the characters' looks are altered so badly you need to ask who they are. You know what I mean, where the artist draws two bishounen and labels them as "Stan" and "Kyle"?
And of course, the other reason why people might dislike slash is severe OOC-ness... not something trivial like "Stan has BLUE eyes, not brown", but something that drastically alters the character altogether (the best example is scrawny emo!Kyle, which is a drastic change from someone who's brave enough to stand up to Cartman. And SKINNY!CARTMAN. Eric was meant to be big-boned his entire life.)
And oh yes. Making the characters too feminine. Butters is the only character, IMHO, who is acceptable to turn into a girly character for humour purposes. But seriously, making everyone wear skirts and eyeliner? I think that's a little too much!
Otherwise, alternate universes I don't mind at all; I actually support them. It's nice to see different interpretations of how the characters turn out.
I support these pairings:
Stan/Kyle
Pip/Damien (I know it's "cute" to pair the innocent British boy with the manipulative son of Satan, but for the love of God, do NOT make Pip completely submissive and feminine! Just remember that there will be inevitable change over the years... and I enjoy me some submissive!Damien. 8D )
Butters/Bradley (canon!)
Cartman/Butters (canon!)
Long post, yes. Pretentious, I hope not. XD But I've learned a lot in the past year or so.
Illegitimi non carborundum.
i like Stan/kyle there my favorite characters, but i have to agree with you about that site called fanfiction.net i once read a Stan/kyle fic that some person wrote and it was all about i don't know how to explain it but it was very inapporiate.

My favorite sp characters: Bridon(he's so cute!)

I'M BACK BABY! (Offtopic lol)
Anyway, I like any slash pairing or any non-slash pairing aslong as the story is written well. Not like those crappy things like: "And teh had buttsecks."
I don't like the really really mushy ones wither when the characters are like SUPER gay. And when every freaking person in like south park turns gay practically, It's just weird.
So over all yeah I like Stan/Kyle.
But I like couples that aren't used alot like Nommel said with like Craig/Kyle.

Goodbye, cruel world...
I'm leaving you today
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye...
Goodbye, all you people

To make me change my mind...
Goodbye...

I dont like slash of this nature that pushes it way to far. What I mean if that the pair is used in a "child porn" fic. For example ; "I aint feeling this" by Alain Colour , and "Freezing Cold" , by Alain Colour. This guy either gets turned on by minors having sex or his some pedophile that is why I put the two fics on the list of slash fics that are condemned by the FFRS(Fan Fiction Rating System). Other than that I see that slash should now involve minors that should be of age for sexual content in a fic .
