1204 - Canada on Strike

I noticed a blooper at the end of the musical number when the Canadians were announcing their strike.
They panned out to continent-wide view of Canada with striking Canadians outlining the US-Canada border. The border looks fine on the west coast but when they got to Lake Superior, they kind of lost it. Southern Ontario and Quebec needed some more Canadians to outline the north shores of Lakes Erie and Ontario as the border. The border between New England and the Maritimes needed work as well.
I can see why they didn't bother with the detail, though. The shot was panning west to east while at the same time zooming out. Not many people would notice. It's understandable.

Also, why was Switzerland at the UN? And "Africa" as one country?

I dunno if this is a blooper, but in the news cast they said the boys video had over 10 million views. But when asked how many views he got by the Chocolate Rain guy Butters said only a few hundred thousand.

Switzerland joined the UN on 10 September 2002 as the 190th member State.
Africa is so backward that no one thinks about individual countries in it, so they figure Africa needs just one person to represent its nations. (the real UN does differentiate between African nations)

I wonder why Switzerland was the leader in that dicussion. Probably because so many people equate it with money (which is what the Canadians were after.)

You ever hear references to unmarked Swiss bank accounts in movies and TV? Well, there was a reason for that: Switzerland, being a neutral country, was a great place to hide money, and no one could get to those accounts except the people who hid the money there.

I know that much, seeing as I am Swiss (and didn't know my country was in the UN, whoops.) I'm just wondering why Switzerland would be leading the discussions.

People have been making money for years off of the internet; i.e. facebook and myspace are all multibillion dollar corporations. Youtube is at least a multimullion dollar corportation. Ebay is another one and so forth. And this is not mentioning all of the other ways and thing's people can do on the internet to make money. So you were wrong to say it would still take time for the internet to be a source of revenue because it has already been for years a source of revenue. In the show Butters did not make money off of his video because of youtube's incapacity to pay people for video's they create; regardless of the video's popularity. Thus, it is youtube's fault why they werent paid and not the internet. So that would make two thing's that were wrong about the show.

But Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube don't have TV shows on them like NBC and Comedy Central do (and if they do, then I'm sure they'll be hearing from lawyers...) And where do you see TV writers writing for eBay? The point is that TV and movie writers focused on money they could make from the Internet (and new media in general) some day instead of what they could get
right now from home video sales.

Dunno if you wanna call it a blooper but i found this very odd with this episode...
Notice at the beginning the head Canadian dude said he was sick of Canada being mocked and ridiculed and the origional reason they went on strike was because of that. Later on in the episode though he desides that Canada deserves more money.
Um ok, but if Canada got more money that wont change the fact they would still be mocked and ridiculed and probably still wont get the respect of other countries. First they want more respect then they want more money. Just a thought.

If I remember correctly, the Star Wars Kid is Canadian, so he should have the Canadian style, and been on strike.
