My favorite has to be It. It was a very good book and a scary, yet funny, movie! Well done Stephen.

Oh yeah, there Stephen King spoofs within SP. Episode like Majorine*, Ginger Kids**, and The Wacky Molestation Adventure*** are great examples:
* Pet Sematary
** Salem's Lot
*** Children of the Corn
I'm surprised Parker and Stone went by the description from the books and not the movies.

Holy crap I never thought of it that way. Good catch.
Come to think of it; Stan, Kyle, Kenny & Cartman do remind me of those four boys from SK's The Body (or Stand by Me). You know, the ones that go looking for that dead kid.

I've only watched movies based on his books. From them, I don't think he writes villains well, but is good at relationships. Therefore (just from the films) I guess whatever Stan By Me is based on is his best.
Wacky molestation adventure is one of my favourite SP episodes, but I'm not that big a fan of children of the corn.

AND BY THE WAY, I WIN

Me neither. They made an entire franchise off the first film and they all suck.

Kyle: Why? How could you do this? There are people starving in Alabama and you give Cartman a million dollars?
Cartman: Line? Lines! I HATE LINES!!!

They're doing another film adaptation of IT

I was just on the Stephen King website, and apparently he's writing a sequel to The Shining. Ironically, it's called Dr. Sleep. Hmmm...

I haven't read a lot, but of what I've read, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.
He frurstrates me, honestly, because I feel he has the talent that his work could be a lot better if he really wanted it to be. But he prefers to, essentially, just have fun, which I guess is fine too. But still, sometimes he reads like a rough draft.

He did do The Dark Tower. His talent reflected there.

Re: What's Your Favorite Stephen King Story?
UnAssumption, you should really read the books..
I loved IT, The Stand, The Dark Tower Books, Carrie, Misery, Needful Things ( the book, not the movie, the first half of the movie wasn't bad, but the 2nd half had nothing to do wtih the book), and many, many others..
And, come to think of it, I really want a dvd or bluray of Cujo..I was at a horror convention last month, and Dee Wallace was there. She was really nice and cool, and during her question and answer session, she talked a lot about working on Cujo. I need to watch it again, since it has been awhile.
