Re: Halloween and Christmas
Turkey, Chicken, and Eggplant I like all of these foods! Food is too good! No food yet has told me not to eat it. Maybe BRAINS but Halloween just past so I think I am in the clear on that one. Last years Thanksgiving stuffing was not the best I will admit but my female preteen cousin made it so I could not say anything. I hope this year her family gives her some help in making it though.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Re: Halloween and Christmas
So Halloween continued until November 2nd at The House At Haunted Hill in Woodland Hills which is in the West San Fernando Valley and is also part of the City of Los Angeles. I went there on November 2nd. They really went all out in decorating the outside of their house and a graveyard they built on a very steep hillside.
There are holograms, a stairway up the hill that shows holograms that speak, there is a pumpkin that talks, and they put on an automated show every 15 minutes or so. The show lasts about 10 minutes. We don't go inside the house at all, but we see in the windows. The house looks normal, and as the pumpkin continues to tell the story the rooms change and all kind of haunts appears
Then we go to the graveyard, and the pumpkin continues to talk. The face of the pumpkin is not carved; there are lights that shin on the pumpkin that gives the eyes, nose, and mouth. The mouth is actually lip synced with the dialogue. I understand they have been doing this for 12 years. This is my first time there. I normally stick to The San Gabriel Valley and Downtown Los Angeles, but this time I went into The San Fernando Valley to see this haunted house. Very cool

New people is always good. Nervous laughter, what's the matter? Horror movies in the Halloween sounds pretty good. Before Christmas, lots of time, I am sure you will find something to do in celebration.

November 5, and Halloween continues
For lunch today, a restaurant was still serving Pumpkin Milkshakes! I had one. It was orange. It was delicious. In addition to pumpkin, it had cinnamon and ginger added to a delicious milkshake :yum:

Well, if you noticed, I am a foreigner, in that case how do I then get nervous if I new? Nice to meet with another fan of the SP, the more people the better.

And how often did this happen, Cap?
Re: Halloween and Christmas
Halloween. It was barely here this year
The one day that I didn't work, but we celebrate it early (I live in a Condominium) and the night they came, I wasn't here ( I was away getting ready for a wedding the next day). I did go over to a friend's house and got into a *Sorta* costume, but I didn't feel that festive. The only good thing still about halloween...is eating everyone's extra/leftover candy!!
Other than that, it's nothing anymore.
Christmas. Still important to me. It has a meaning. The big problem I have with it is the commercialism and materialism of it. The holiday itself is fine. But F*ckin Corporate Greed has meant that they now take days that matter to most us like THANKSGIVING and have turned it into a SALE DAY at the Mall!!
AND another thing....I HATE the idea that everyone is talking about Christmas and the big sales and it is still 2 MONTHS AWAY!!! I'll buy my gifts when I'm damn well and ready thank you and not a second sooner!! That's the problem with Christmas. It's no longer about celebrating the birth of Christ, it's about spending money and watching "It's a Charlie Brown Christmas!" (There is nothing wrong with Charlie Brown Christmas...I like it. I'm just saying that the media and all the Christmas specials play a role in my anger too!)
Oh yea, and somehow my gifts are not as "lavish" as they were back in the day. Maybe it's financial reasons. Maybe it's that I don't need as much anymore. idk. It's not the same either. But at least I still remember the meaning of why we celebrate and that will never leave, no matter how sadistic everything else becomes of that holiday.

If I had not ignored the report, you would already know why you were reported. Don't worry about it.

Re: Halloween and Christmas
What I am happy about rate now are the Christmas special drinks you can buy at Starbucks. They are real tasty. And that eggnog is out finally. Eggnog and liquor is the best. Also I can't wait to eat turkey.
