ugh. I've IRL'd the board. I'm here every day, I read all the things (when there are things), but I just don't have much to say. Just like out here, I prefer to sit back, take in information, and not really participate.

I've also noticed that lately my social... I guess it's anxiety? Awkwardness? Ra-tardism. There. That. Anyway, it's gotten really bad in recent months. When I'm talking to someone, I can't even look them in the eye anymore. And I'm talking about people I've worked with for years too.

Well BRMBug now that I have gotten to get to know you like as much people can get to know each other over the internet, I feel you are a great person. I mean sure at first my paranoia made me think you were a Muslim terrorist. But now I think your like a Latino American or something. Anyways I wish more people would say things on this forum and it doesn’t matter if it is Ra-tarded or whatever. Just say what you want to say but don’t break any rules. I’m sorry your having trouble in the real world. Are you full of hateful things that it forces you to not say things? Are you LGBT? I’ve been feeling pretty gay and trans lately myself but I know it is a passing phase. I just have to look at some good old porn to fix it. Maybe your depressed or something? Maybe you should seek out a psychiatrist or something? I have to see one for like an hour once a month. It can really help people feel better. Maybe your employer would help pay for your treatment? Well what ever you do don’t do anything crazy.

Also what about if your bored that you could help your community out? Like check out at your local town hall or something and see if there are any charities that you could help out with. Or maybe get into politics and help out democrats or republicans in your state. I know an old friend who is doing quite well rate now that got into politics.

I'm just always afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing. I'm just a weird Whitesican Texan dude who leans on the Aspie-ish side of life I guess.

So Bug your half white European and Mexican? What parts of Europe did your family come from? You shouldn’t fear what you have to say as long as you have pure thoughts to share. If you spend too much time dreaming about Mr. Hankey I can understand your problem. I know you don’t want to get into trouble but you should be able to talk to people. Are you up just thinking about ill favored sh*t all the time or what? I don’t have any friends and rarely talk to people but I have no problem shooting up the sh*t with people when it calls for it. You remind me of Seinfeld who thinks he has autism. Like I said maybe you need something more to do to make yourself feel better. If you got a day off why not spend it helping people instead of watching South Park, you may feel better. Maybe you need a South Park break. The show is pretty full of dirty ill favored thoughts and feelings. Maybe it is finally taken its toll on you and you need something else to enjoy. You should really try to make peoples lives better. It will make you not feel afraid and feel wrong about things. Maybe your just out of touch of the whole human experience and need to get back into it?

Perhaps some sort of online quiz could help you see how close you are to whatever your problem is?

As an agnostic (borderline atheist), I have to say that reading the Bible has really been interesting because I'm learning things that you NEVER hear about. Whether religious people leave leave out certain quotes, to push an agenda, or simply because they don't want to not to leave their comfort zone.

Speaking of comfort zones, I found this interesting verse that commands Christians to not pray in public.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:5-6)

And other dangerous quotes:

And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel. And the Lord said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the Lord against the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may be turned away from Israel. (Numbers 25:3-4)

But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses. The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea: That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same. (Psalm 68:21-23)

It seems that God had a problem with men with broken penis:

He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord. A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 23:1-2)

Why are shorts so goddamn expensive? Yeah, I know it's the season for shorts and stores can afford to have higher prices, but in general they're often more expensive than regular trousers. I can just buy regular and cut them.

Or how come ink for printers costs more than the printer itself THAT COMES WITH THAT INK?

Reminds me of video game consoles that sell the console at a loss to make money on the games.

"give away the razor to sell the blades", I get the economic incentive, really.... But this sh*t should be regulated with the printer market because the amount of e-waste it produces. I know I am not the only one that has bought a $30 Walmart printer and then got another similar priced one instead of refilling the ink for it when I realized it was cheaper to get a new one rather than refilling the old one. Where do you think the old printer goes? Take a guess.

Anyway, after succeeding in my weight loss goal, I am thinking about cutting out most artificially sweetened things as well. Not because what idiots think about it (that it will cause brain damage or some sh*t) but because it does have negative affects just coming to light from studies, but it's dealing with how it kills off certain bacteria in your stomach and creates glucose intolerance and puts you at risk for metabolic disorders, including diabetes. I would have brushed this off as more pseudo-science BS from Whole Foods hippies, but it's a study from Nature and doctors from UCSF are spreading the paper around. Too bad it's UCSF doing that, though, because some people will discount it as what I just said I would have if it weren't from Nature. Most people will see University of California San Francisco and dismiss it as more Whole Foods hippie non-sense. But, that's not how science works, and UCSF is a medical only school, not liberal arts sh*t goes on there, period. It is literally all medical.

I used to follow a lot of facebook groups for ideas I disagree with. I used to think that I would have a more nuanced view of ideas i disagreed with if i heard what the proponents of those ideas were actually saying, but it just made me more opposed to those ideas. I felt the need to read posts from groups on my side of these issues every time i read posts from the opposition, to remind myself that there's sanity in the world. About a week ago i unfollowed all the groups for things i disagree with and a week later, i find myself unfollowing the groups that support the ideas i agree with. I can see that those groups are actually more radical than i would have been, if i hadn't been reading things from groups i opposed; reading those things seemed to radicalize me. I think this will do wonders for my blood pressure - it'll definitely give me more free time to waste on forums like this ;P
Not because what idiots think about it
On a related note. I find people who strongly support 1 idea tend to reject everything groups opposed to that idea present, even if the things those opposition groups are saying is clearly true. I had a pro-GM crops page say that drinking 2 litres of coca cola a day won't make you fat, and that obesity isn't a health problem, because people opposed to GM crops say the opposite. This is related because i found myself opposing that paper, instinctively, until i read and understood it. When people make bad arguments for conclusion X, it's easy to dismiss X even when there's good arguments presented for it.
I still suspect artificial sweeteners still have their place. The benefit of fewer calories probably outweighs the harm of damaged gut microbes for some people. Also skeptical that all artificial sweetners are bad based on a paper that studied just a few of them, though the ones it studied are probably best avoided.

Well, is there anywhere interesting or different you could travel to in a day? Not necessarily an overnight stay, but somewhere you can drive to, do stuff, and drive back from in a day? I'll drive between 70 and 100 miles to visit another town. I usually hit up antique stores and record shops.

Thanks Bug but I don't like to drive far because I am always going to want to have a drink and I hate drinking and driving. I had fun anyways and this Friday I am going to a AAA River Cats baseball game. Thanks for the support Bug.
