Seems like there’s not much supporting evidence to your dislike of the character.

I like Cartman, he’s one of my favourites. Sure, lots of things he says and does can be quite controversial and downright twisted, but the end result is quite funny. You must remember that it’s all fiction and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

I've just started watching south park... I've watched about thirty episodes in the last week... but anyways at first Cartman drove me crazy... but I realized that without him the show just wouldn't be the same. Yes, he is an egotistical jerk... but that's why i love the show. Without him... it just wouldn't be the same.

Just HOW many of these 'Cartman sucks/rocks' topics do we need, anyway?

I guess it really says something for the character, though. Matt and Trey (even if they have used him a tad too much recently) must've done SOMETHING right if so much discussion/debate is stirred up over him..

(not to say they couldn't do anything right. I'm saying that something must've worked with Cartman to get to all this!)

Cartman is a self involved maniacal egotist, but how many shows do you know that don't have the "good" guys and the "bad" guys. Cartman is not always that bad and he is not always wrong either. His disdain for hippies, for one, rings true for many of us in the Northeast who see them running things.

Cartman is OK, but Hippies suck!
