In Flames new album is hardly melodeath, their gothenburg sound ended after Clayman.

It is melodeath, actually. Not gothenburg melodeath, but the new wave of melodeath, which also includes Scar Symmetry, myGRAIN, new Soilwork, Disarmonia Mundi (somewhat), etc.
The new wave of melodeath is pretty much combining regular melodeath with some clean vocals parts, more melodic choruses, and catchier riffs. But most melodeath fans really don't like it at all.

But it pwns hard. All melodeath pwns hard, except I'm not too fond of the really old/heavier/less melodic stuff like old At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity's first couple albums.

^Yeah, I know it still is melodeath. I meant it's not the style of melodeath that started the genre.
