0 0 How rare. :o And it's just right down the street from my house! Well, practically, it's like 3 or 4 miles, but still.

Athena1999 wrote:OK... random subject: I'm getting my refrigerator picked up today. Which means I have to drink my way through a week's worth of kelp juice, V-8, and soymilk because my roomie can't stand that stuff. X3 YES, KELP JUICE. I KID YOU NOT. I AM A WEIRD COOKIE AND PROUD OF IT.
So, is it not working, or are you moving, or... what?

Athena1999 wrote:So how was everyone's weekend? Tell me tell me tell me! *sits on edge of chair*

Oh, just ever so eventful. On Saturday, me and Dad went to the "A Taste of Addison" festival/event/thingy, enjoyed some music, ate some good food, and found some very intersting folk-artsy ceramic fish made by an artist from Bandera (North west of San Antonio). I'll have to post pictures when I get them hung up.
Then on Sunday, Me, Dad, Aunt Monica, and Fred took Grandma to a Mexican restaraunt in Coppell for lunch, And I forget what Monica and Fred's gift to her was, but we got her some Mother of Pearl earrings to go with a cross we got her two years ago that she wears all the time. After we took her back to "The Home *heh heh*" as she puts it, Me and dad went and saw Spiderman 3, then decided to go back to Grandma's for a proper visit, and to take her some groceries, and stayed till almost 11 watching a race on the Speed channel.

EPAF wrote:What other comedies do they have lined-up during that period?

Well, they're not all comedies... and they're not all British, but...
Saturday:
8pm; Doctor Who (The current series... well with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper, what was that '04?)
10pm; Last of the Summer Wine (Again some of the more recent episodes)
10:30; Mulberry (I'm so glad this show is in the lineup again)
11pm; The Industry (There's the "not all British" part)
11:30; Chef! (Another one I don't watch anymore. I got tired of him yelling at everyone all the time.)
12am; Red Dwarf
12:30; ...0_o Ooh, there seems to be another change. In previous weeks, including this past one, there has been a Monty Python on at 12:30 Sunday morning, but according to next week's schedule they're putting on The Young Ones again.
... Then they have the regular Mystery and/or documentary at 1am.

Sunday (I'll have to go with yesterday's lineup):
10pm; As Time Goes By (I missed this episode, so I don't know what it was)
10:30; Keeping up Appearances (Damn Bucket woman, another one I don't watch all that often.)
11pm; Vicar of Dibley (yay! that's back)
11:30; Kiss Me Kate (Also glad that's back on)
12am; Only Fools and Horses (Also rarely seen by me. Odd, it was an hour long episode. I thought it only ran 30 minutes.)
1am; Father Ted
1:30; The Office
... and then "regular" programming.

But thank God there are more shops now where you have to dress in a smart-casual way. Most clothes, books and coffee shops in town have the staff wearing things like plain black T-Shirts & Jeans which is something I'm accustomed to and like. Praise Smart-Casual clothing! :D

I work at this store called Giant Tiger, and we have to wear a black button-up shirt type thing, it's not too bad. But there's one question I get alot from customers: Do you work here? They make us wear the store logo so the people don't ask us that!

That's a LOT of trips to the bathroom then for you, Jeni. :?

XD shortly after I posted that, I realized that the refrigerator my stuff was in stayed in the dorm. I had a different one that had literally been sitting around inside the place since January (I had changed dorms after the spat with my former roommate), and THAT was the one that got picked up. Proves I can't think straight in the morning.

BRMBug wrote: So, is it not working, or are you moving, or... what?

Moving out of my dorm. I couldn't find an apartment just yet, so I'm briefly moving in with the parents and commuting to summer school and work. It's hard to find a cheap apartment in the Twin Cities, especially one that's in close proximity to the university.

LOL... you both had awesome weekends. Mine was less interesting. I drove 45 minutes to Wisconsin to see my sister's band concert (and to visit my mom for Mother's Day) on Friday night, hung out with some old high-school friends after the concert, spent all of Saturday driving aimlessly around River Falls and Hudson in search of a second job, and then spent Sunday cooking and studying. XD

Annnd I just found out I lost my calculator. Dammit. D8

I just saw National Geographic's documentary on the North Hollywood Shootout.

Best movie I have ever seen, documentary or otherwise. Even the interviews were interesting.

In other words, the police at the shootout were portrayed as assh*les in this documentary? ;)

I don't think ice cream is as yummy as it's made out to be (along with most other sweets besides chocolate). I haven't eaten much ice cream at all in my recent life.

Oh. My. God. Last week was the worst week of my life. Well, so, you know I got a root canal two weeks ago and blah blah and all that crap. Well, here's the low-down and what happened the week AFTER that damned root canal.

Well, my jaw started hurting and so did my tooth and so my mom said that it was probably just the after-shock of it. But then it didn't go away, so my mom took me into a specialist and she said that I had an infection. I was starting to swell up on my right side. They said the antibiotic I was taking wasn't strong enough, so they gave me a stronger one.

So, the next couple days I stayed home and mellowed out. It got a lot better during the weekend and I thought I was going to school on Monday when all of a sudden, I got these sharp pains up my jaw and then I didn't go to school on Monday. I was supposed to have a follow-up appointment on Wednesday, so they called Monday to confirm it and ask how I was doing. They said it was normal. That was a relief.

It's now Tuesday and guess what! I started throwing up and had this feeling all day. I threw up four times, and I was throwing up this green and yellow stuff. My mom said it might be because I couldn't open my jaw enough to eat OR talk. Yeah right.

So we go in later that day instead of Wednesday and they tell me I was rejecting my stronger antibiotic. OH GREAT. So, they said they may have to pull my tooth if the next antibiotic did not work. They call me into an oral surgeon and I go right from the specialist to the office. They say everything is normal and prescribe me a super strong prescription. Then, they shot me up with IV. Thay gave me anti-nausea medicine and water because I was dehydrated.

So, I stay on this medicine and it does not do anything. By now, I haven't eaten for over 21 hours, can't swallow, feel like I'm going to throw-up, and I can't even tell my mom anything because I can't talk! My mom can't sleep, I can't sleep, and we are both bitches. So, it's Thursday and I have a 1:00 appointment. I go in and they tell me, "We're going to pull the tooth."

My reaction: THANK-FREAKING GOD. So, they shot me with another IV and anesthetic and I went out like a light. I was so happy. I felt groggy, but they told me my infection came out and that they put a tube inside my hole to drain the rest of the infection. I can now eat, talk, swallow, and sleep at night. I still take my pills. But now, my mom and dad are switching dentists because this is the third problem he has had with my siblings and I. He did not make my parents pay for the root canal. But with all the appointments I had and that, I cost my parents up to $1600. Oops.

But anyway, I still have the tooth and now hate the dentist more than ever. I missed 7 days of school and have to make up a hell load of work. But at least I'm feeling better.

Wow, that was longer than I thought. Sorry I bored everyone with my rattling.
