We're all addicted to the internet, if you deny it, you're trying to hide something, your addiction to gay porn, whatever. But if something like this happened we'd all have feelings of doom.
This episode was a hilarious expression of that.
"It's, it's easy?"
"Yes...,it is easy..."
What was that black and white part referring to? Was it a particular movie or show?
I thought it was cool that they got away with all those nasty stick figure drawings. I haven't seen anything like that on tv before, so that was sweet.
Oh, and the part where Kyle unplugs the modem and replugs it. That was totally awesome!
Oh also, the part where Shelly cries and lisps at the same time... for a really looooong time, that cracked me up.
They should continue to show more Shelly. And Sharon.

finally! some people that don't bitch about how "crappy" the season is!

I agree, I thought it was really funny and when i wasn't laughing out loud, it was funny on the inside. The black and white clips i am not completely sure about. I like when the adults have some center stage, i did miss the other crew, but lets not raise the bar to high ya'll. South park is still some of the best stuff on tv....i didn't say politically correct

Lice capades is a top ten episode. It is funny how a thousand different people can have a thousand different ideas about what is funny.
This latest episode is also hilarious.
I hope I never get to the point where I take all the fun out of it.
I have tired of plots where something relatively minor happens/is lost and the whole town/country freaks out. It seems to happen so often that the boys probably have Bug-Out Bags on hand at all times.
I also tire of the plot device that super smart and highly paid government experts act like total idiots and the solution always comes from a little boy. Really, it gets old when a solution is so simple and no one except one of the boys thinks about it.
The Randy plot basically just strengthens my case that he and Sharon have little reason to be together. He doesn't get his kicks from her obviously.
Stan: Well, damn, he didn't do much. I guess the only thing that is notable to Stan fans is that it showed how nice he was that he cared about Shelly and her relationship enough to try and comfort her, and that brings me to the best part of the episode.
Shelly and the Online Dating Plot: It was by far and away the best part of the episode. It was funny, it actually seemed realistic, and the subtle point it made was great. Seriously, had it not been for the relative strength of this plot, this would have been a 5/10 episode.
But, back to how freakin' formulaic this episode was. You knew the second Randy first looked up porn that it would come back. You knew the second that he knew he could get into the trailer what would happen. You knew the SECOND that you saw The Internet what would happen, and you knew it would be Kyle who figured it out the second you cut back to him on the couch. You knew the second that you found out the internet was out in town that the entire town would slowly devolve into chaos. You knew basically every plot device this show would employ and all of the "twists" that would happen. Nothing happene dthat you couldn't have guessed.
And that is, honestly, my biggest gripe. When I start nodding off during a South Park episode and I wake up and am not lost at ALL, you know that something is up. If I fell asleep during the best South Park episodes, I'd be lost when I woke up because the plots are good and unpredictable. I literally said the second that I saw Randy look up porn the first time, "We're gonna see his semen later."
And you know what? I was right. And when I saw him walking around holding his crotch, I knew that when he did ejaculate there would be a lot of sperm. And I was right on the money. I mean, not only do I not really find it all that funny, but I found it boring and predictable.
BUT, as I said before, the Shelly plot and her interactions with Stan save this episode.
You pretty much said exactly everything I would have said, with one minor exception; Shelly. She was as unfunny as everything else. 6/10 is charitable as a rating. I'd give it 3/10.

It was so bad it's almost like this episode was a parody of the beyond-stale SP formula. And SP rags on Family Guy??
I said in another thread, I'm keeping the faith. I'm going to continue to watch every episode made until the series ends. I'm not going to turn into a hater and go around saying SP sucks and I'm going to boycott the show but I just have to say - here we are almost halfway through the season; and a good half of the first six episodes (Tonsil Trouble, Britney's New Look, and now Over Logging) have completely bombed IMO.
I'd like it if they focused away from Kyle for a while. I know a lot of you like him, but personally, I'm finding him slightly annoying. But then again, I'm a Stan fan and most of you think he's "boring"- or so I've heard.
Maybe Butters and Stan next week- that would be something new. Anyway, overall, I liked the episode. Props to M&T for the Shelly and Stan thing- haven't seen that one in a while!
Hm, I'll say 7/10.
P.S. I think this season is pretty good so far.
All in all a good episode i give it a 8.8/10
In the book they went West to find a way to live...in the episode they went to find internet...nice parallel.
I also like the Marsh's plant and I'm psyched that they took it to California. For the record, I'm a huge fan of the Marsh's plant.
Randy's confession that he can't return to playboy after watching asian girls puke in each other's mouths.
