Re: The Metal Thread
Anywho, NEW GAME!
What's you're favorite ____ from a metal band.
Like...my favorite lyric from a metal band is.... "Rape the Limbless Cadaver!!!"-Rancid Amputation by Cannibal Corpse.
My favorite solo from a metal band would either have to be the one in The Thing That Should Not Be by Metallica (I don't know why I like that one so much) or the Fermented Offal Discharge one from Necrophagist.
...This game kind of sucks

The comments say it's not Frank Zappa. But Steve Vai. I've never heard this one, but I like it.

Re: The Metal Thread
You kind of have to respect bands like FFDP, BFMV, or Mudvayne because they're the only things that actually keep metal alive these days.
Re: The Metal Thread
Metalcore... it sucks... and as much as a metalhead hates to admit it, i have to say they are important. Metalcore bands are mainstream, and can get people in to real metal, it is partially because of them metal is making a comeback... the metalcore bands aren't the ones actually bringing metal back, in fact, they give metal a bad name, they just open up people to metal, so they can eventually listen to some real stuff.

Re: The Metal Thread
Exactly, like I started to get into metal after I heard Linkin Park. You have to give them some credit. Then again if they f*ck up and real metal never makes a come back I'll go to EVERY single metalcore band and kick them square in the nuts.

The 'Old Man's' version of great 'metal'
Pantera- This Love
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Ozzy Osbourne - Flying High Again, Mr. Crowley, Crazy Train, Shot In The Dark, Perry Mason
GWAR - Entire Catalog
Ayreon - Entire Catalog
Faith No More - Epic
King's X - It's Love
....and many others I can't think of right now.

You know what pisses me off? iTunes won't let you but War Pigs, you have to buy the whole god damn album to get it. Same with Paranoid and Iron Man. Maybe it's Ozzy, because they don't do that with most other stuff. I wouldn't be surprised since Ozzy has been the star of two TV shows...
If only Metallica decided to stick with that name...Great idea, Cliff.
