I only laughed when Cartman made fun of the jews! ò.ó

Crippled Summer was okay, but it didn't compare to 200 & 201; both of which caused me to literally ROFL . I liked the fact that they brought Towelie back, but the jokes weren't as funny.

I don't understand the Baldwin reference. I don't think that matters much either. This was a mediocre episode at best.

Cartman's Jew rant, Elmer Fudd, and the undersexed shark were the few, and too far between, highlights.

I hope next week is better.

I liked some of the more subtle humor in this one. Nathan leads his team out to the Indian reservation and begins thinking to himself, "They shouldn't be letting us out this far - we're handicapped!" That, and "crippled" Jimmy surfing on a wave in the middle of a lake, and Timmy singing backing vocals in the way one would expect, were all delightful bits of absurdity.

Towelie's introduction was great, but I think things got a little too bleak. Otherwise, he was hilarious as usual.

OK, I've now watched it 3 times with my first couple of Intervention episodes in between and while I'm still not prepared to say 'classic', definitely more than solid.

It was a old WB tribute, a Meatballs tribute, an Intervention piss-take, a Timmy/Jimmy episode AND a Towlie episode, and it largely succeeded on all those fronts. It might have been better if they'd just focused on one or two of these, but they fact they jammed it all in, kept the story coherent and all tied up at the end is just SP audaciousness at it's best.

I agree that if you don't know Intervention or are too young to appreciate how lovingly they integrated both the typical WB cartoon and late 70s/early 80s underdog comedy plots (Meatballs, Animal House, Stripes, Police Academy - you fellow old farts know what I mean), it wouldn't be as funny.

As for either not having a message, or some deep subtext about a FU to Comedy Central - bollix to both.
1 - Artards are handicapible.
2 - Drugs are bad hmmkay? Don't don't huff computer duster hmmkay?

True these have both been dealt with before, but hey, they're big ongoing issues. Sorry if you wanted something more topical or needed Kyle to spell this out for you.

But mostly, after the additional heaviness surrounding the last couple of episodes, and right before their holidays, I'd say the SP crew just wanted to have a bit of fun. And rightly so.

So did I. What would have made it even better imo is if the SP version of Porky Pig stuttered "That's all folks" at the end of 1407

Good call! A shocking oversight in a WB tribute!

Yeah that would have been awesome if the Porky Pig character had signed off the episode with "That's all folks". Too bad they didn't do it. Oh well, I for one love Towelie and I thought the episode was great. Camp Tardicaca was funny, Jimmy and Nathan were both great, the Intervention angle was funny, the Loony Tunes tribute was fun. I thought it was a really good episode in a lighthearted silly way like many of the early episodes and a welcome change from all the socially relevant commentary lately. Don't get me wrong I also like the social commentary stuff too, but I like it when Matt and Trey mix things up and surprise us a bit. I've watched this episdoe 4 times already and Towlie in the car huffing duster is my absolute favorite scene.

I'm not sure if at 33 I'm ready to be called an "old fart" just yet, but yeah. I know exactly what you mean.

I've watched this episode on Friday on Comedy Central UK and before the ad break them two people who were plotting to take Jimmy out were talking about trying to get the blue team to go to a native indian area... but after the ad break if seemed to have skipped over that and gone straight to the shark whistle plan?

I can't find anything about it being cut or anything online, so no idea what has happened? probabbly a time cut or something?

Anyway, what did I miss?

This was an adult episode and I think a lot of the kids on this board just didn't get it.

1. This was an OBVIOUS response to the censorship in the previous episodes. Consider Eric's speech. It is almost straight out of "der ewige Jude", a Nazi propaganda film.

2. In addition to Jews, this episode makes fun of crippled kids and drug addicts, two groups supposedly in need of support and empathy.

3. The Islamic Prophet? Still off-limits.

This was my favorite episode of the season so far.

Stink buzz! But basically there was just more of the running gag about the SNAFUs in Nathan & Mimsy's plans (they end up at the reservation & Nathan gets shot by Indians) and then the funny-as-a-fart scene stanlee mentions above with Towelie huffing computer duster

"Go away! Let me walk on the sunshine a little more!" - Love it.

Nothing integral to the plot, but worth trying to DL or seeing if a mate recorded it for a couple of good laughs.
