Are South Park Polls racist?

Postby aerojockey » Sun Nov 07, 2010 8:03 pm

I notice that in the poll of who your favorite superhero is, it doesn't show the black superhero, TupperWear. I mean it does list him as a poll choice but doesn't show a picture of him.

(BTW it looks like TupperWear is wearing Rubbermaid, not Tupperware.)

Hm, you're right, that's interesting. But no, probably not.

If there is any bias, it's because Token's family is rich, not because they're black

Not sure about the Tupperwear/Rubbermaid thing :?

But as to the poll, link please?

I went to BOARD INDEX ===> POLLS and read all the poll titles all the way back to August, 2010, and I missed it :? I would like to see this poll, so again: Link please? Thx. :)

The poll he's talking about is not on the message board.

TupperWear is missing. See?

Huh. I didn't even notice. I was more engrossed in the fact that I couldn't seem to get the results to show. I don't even know if my vote went through or not. :?

Thanks, Big-Will :D

There are 10 Super Heros in this triology;quadrailogy. Only 7 are shown in Big-Will's Screen Cap; the list of super heros in the column right next to me shows shows 9 superhero voting choices.

In the pics, Prof. Chaos, Captain Hindsight, and TupperWear are missing.

In the poll itself, only Prof. Chaos is missing.

Conclusion: The poll is not racist imo; the pics don't show Chaos or Hindsight; the poll is missing Chaos. Therefore, just because the pics don't show TupperWear, two others are missing as well. Plus, the "Token" black, TupperWear IS listed in the poll itself.

Here are the current voting results:

Yes, I did. Every time I voted or clicked on "view results" I just saw the forever spinning "processing" wheel and nothing happened. :/ I saw the end results eventually though. I voted for Iron Maiden. Timmeh made me lol the most of all of them.

Professor Chaos isn't a hero, he's a villain, so he shouldn't have been in the poll anyway.

As for Tupperware, he's a minority, and as the majority of votes are needed to win the poll, his inclusion would have been superfluous.

I don't remember Captain Hindsight even being on the poll initially, I think he was added later.

For those who didn't get the results, the most votes went to (in order): Mysterion, The Coon, Mint-Berry Crunch, and Iron Maiden.
South Park is a platform for Matt and Trey's social commentary and satire; there is no canon and these characters only serve as tools for self-expression. Don't get attached.
