Re: *1502: Funnybot* Post-Air Discussion
Yes, Matt and Trey have combined two TV shows and a movie in Funnybot:
Star Trek TOS: "The Changeling" - most of the story after Funnybot starts saying "I am Funnybot" ("I am Nomad") and leading to it being hauled off with antigravs - but he was rehabilitated instead of being beamed into space in order to explode.
Dr. Who - Funnybot has the body of a Dalek and uses the word "Exterminate!" (Nomad used the word "Sterilize!")
Star Wars - Funnybot accessing the mainframe like R2-D2 does.

hey how can u get a favorite char??
Wow
This episode was so blatantly unfunny and not even remotely clever. I dunno why they centered an entire episode unsubtly hinting how they dislike Tyler Perry and think comedy awards are stupid. The first two jokes the robot said that they quoted in the credits were the only funny part. And even then only a chuckle. South Park used to be amazing till the second half of season 12 and they picked it up a little along the way. Least they didn't go with cartman using a new one episode long gimmick catchphrase..
better than i've predicted it would be
quite a nice episode. i was surprised with the ending :D
hope the rest of the 15th season's episodes will be at least as good as the first two of them.
so far, i think that season 15 is better than the previous one.

Okay
1000X better than last week, but still 1000x worse than old south park. I think this is the last season :/
Re: *1502: Funnybot* Post-Air Discussion
For all the talk about what's funny, there sure wasn't much of it in this episode.
Oh, Funnybot does well-known stuff from science fiction! Haha ha...ha. That happened! That existed! Ha.ha....ha.
"AWKWARRRD!" Yes, saying that isn't funny, so mocking it to show how it's not funny is....funny? NON SEQUITIR!
I'm disappointed.

i liked it! and i'm glad they didn't do anything with bin laden, i'm sick to death hearing about him. i like that they keep it simple and if at times stupid, i want to enjoy the show and not be reminded all the time of crap i see in the news.

As to Star Trek TOS: "The Changeling" - NOMAD used the word "Sterlize!" throughout the entire Star Trek episode until the end where I took that screen shot from. Kirk pushes the fact that he's Nomad's creator and NOMAD agrees. Kirk then drives the point home, noting that NOMAD is mistaken in identifying him and has made an error. Further, NOMAD failed to discover the mistake, then failed to sterilize itself, compounding the mistake. NOMAD tries to correlate the error and now NOMAD says:
"Analyze!" and gets frustrated and smoke comes out of NOMAD just before the anti-gravs are put on.
Funnybot had smoke too and also said: "Analyze" in the SP anti-grave scene.
Way to go, Matt & Trey - three sci-fi references
