Doubt it, but that would be interesting...

South Park is a platform for Matt and Trey's social commentary and satire; there is no canon and these characters only serve as tools for self-expression. Don't get attached.

Just caught it the second time around on the East coast... So was that a goodbye? They are going to wrap up the show? It ended soo sad, I seriously want to cry. I think not knowing is the worse because I so wasn't prepared for this. South Park has been a big part of my life. The boys are always there to cheer me up when I'm down...

In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys, they were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air"

I whistled for a cab and when it came near the
License plate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-air!

I pulled up to a house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby "Yo, homes smell you later!"
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-air

Before I read anything, I'm guessing Trey Parker is leaving the show. Think about it. He's the voice of Stan and his dad. Matt is the voice of cartman (I'm pretty sure I'm wrong though, is matt Cartman too?) well anyways I took it as Cartman and Kyle are still sticking to the same routine. The show can, and will go on of course. But I'm sure stan will show up from time to time. They still have Butters and Cartman and Kenny.. they need someone new. Or maybe they'll hire a sound alike voice actor?

Edited for stupidity.

I'm having a hard time dealing with this. It's almost like they knew how emotional this would be for the die-hard fans like us. I've loved this season so far, and the people who haven't haven't been with south park for the long haul. I laughed at the episode sooo hard. When I saw the preview I immediately thought it was going to make fun of dubstep.

They are being true to their nature. They make fun of everyone, including themselves. That last bit about the same story only a little different each week...man. I just don't know.

There are going to be 7 more episodes...I just wonder how they're going to resolve this. I love the Marsh family so much.

I just wonder if matt and trey are unhappy, like randy and sharon said they were. I'm gonna have a hard time sleeping tonight.

A lot of you are assuming that this was the first of a two-part episode yet there wasn't the usual "To be continued..." that there normally is after a multiple-part South Park episode.

I think the world of South Park has just been rocked. Not to say that they won't return to this plot line in October, we just have to wait and see. If you assume, everything comes out sh*tty.

I got the same feeling as when I did when The Sopranos ended...anyone watch the last episode of that? It just ended with a black screen...leaving everyone wondering what happend. They can't just write off a main character, such as Stan...Kenny was understable because he died almost every episode.

I agree..Kyle and Cartman as buddies? It seems weird and coincidental because my twin was a huge fan of Stan in the beginning seasons and Kyle is my favorite (Kyle and Stan are/were best buddies seasons 1-half of 15)...a month ago, my twin started liking Cartman instead...and now this episode happens with Stan being ditched with Kyle and Cartman being friends? Just weird.

If this were to end the way it did (which I sure in the hell hope not!), does anyone get the feeling that Stan will have his own show? Just like how Cleveland got his own show from Family Guy? I hope not...

Trey and Matt, please keep South Park going strong! Don't end it like this!

I think maybe they were making a euphemism about South Park fans arguing over the old and new episodes..

Fan 1: The new season sucks! This is such crap!
Fan 2: No, it's great! The old seasons were crap!

I don't think this is the ending of the series. I see this as a way to shake things up. Sharron said it herself. "Then everything resets like nothing happened." This is a way to try to stir the pot or make new storylines.

When people divorce they sometimes sell the house they lived in as a family. I took it as Randy leaving town while Sharron gets the kids and moves to a new house. Thus Stan having the new room.

The show at its heart was how young kids see the problems we adults fuss over way too much. Like when they had no idea why people thought Father Maxi would want to molest them. But it might be they felt they did all the jokes and "how would a young child view this?"

Each age group has their own challenges to deal with. The boys are mostly the same age so it wont be long till Kyle and the others turn 10 as well.

If it was me I would age them to maybe 15 as freshmen in High School.

My take on the end of the episode was Trey and Matt saying they don't want to do this anymore. Sharon went on saying how it's the same sh*t every week, and it just resets and it's the same story in a different way every week. And how she wants something new or a change for once, something along those lines.

It's almost an hour after the replay and I thought to myself, how long can South Park really go on? The boys can't stay 9 or 10 forever, and granted they change grades every 4 or 5 years, but eventually, they won't be at South Park elementary anymore.

And come to think of it, their "tween" music they were listening to highlights on exactly that, they're almost tweens now, not the 8 year old boys we knew in the first seasons.

I hope to God I'm wrong, but this seems like the beginning of the end with us finding out Mr. Kim's real identity and now the Marsh's future uncertain.

Again, let's hope I'm wrong.

Completely agree. Love for the Marsh family and def gonna have trouble sleeping. It really really showed how as you get older things change, even the unexpected like Kyle and Cartman getting all buddy buddy. South Park as always is true to life in the most ridiculous ways. If only things could stay great forever, but they can't :( I guess I have no choice but to put my faith in Matt and Trey and hope that change may bring something good.
